0518 GMT - Xiaomi's 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max smartphones will provide a useful test of the company's pricing power, Bernstein analysts write in a note. The Chinese company unveiled the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max at 5,999 yuan and 6,999 yuan, respectively, 1,000 yuan more than the 17 series at launch, they add. The new models represent another step in Xiaomi's shift toward premium products. While feature upgrades are substantial and higher memory costs support the pricing increase, Bernstein is cautious about consumer reception, given the competitive smartphone market and weak macro environment, they say. Bernstein maintains its outperform rating for the stock at a target price of 35.00 Hong Kong dollars. Shares last at HK$26.16.
