Ericsson (ERIC) will supply its next-generation RAN compute platform for NTT Docomo's networks in Japan, including 5G, the company said Friday.
Based on the latest Ericsson Silicon, the artificial intelligence-enabled system is designed to support 4G, 5G, 5G Advanced and advanced AI and machine learning workloads, the company said.
Ericsson said deployment began in July and the platform will support NTT Docomo's commercial network operations in Japan.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
