Netflix (NFLX) is developing guidelines for the safe use of generative artificial intelligence in content production, with the technology intended to support creators rather than replace them, Nikkei Asia reported Friday, citing comments from co-Chief Executive Greg Peters.
Peters said Netflix has issued AI guidelines requiring consent for the use of personal data, likenesses and voices, while investing in generative AI for user experience, content production and advertising to help accelerate content creation, according to the report.
Peters also highlighted Asia-Pacific as a key growth market, noting that first-quarter revenue in the region rose 20% year over year. Netflix plans to release about 50 original Japanese titles by 2029, the report added.
Netflix didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
