Vision Marine Technologies (VMAR) said Tuesday it has received the first two battery packs based on a refined high-voltage design developed with California-based Octillion Power Systems for its E-Motion electric marine propulsion platform.

The company said the new battery packs offer about 7.5% more energy capacity per module while maintaining a similar footprint to the previous generation.

Vision Marine said it has begun mechanical and electrical validation of the packs, including testing for fitment, performance, thermal management and charging compatibility.
