Costco reported higher third-quarter profit as the retailer continues to draw inflation-weary consumers.

The company posted net income of $2.19 billion, or $4.93 a share, compared with $1.90 billion, or $4.28 a share, the year prior.

Net sales rose 12% to $69.15 billion, and same-store sales grew 9.8%.

In a note earlier this month, UBS analysts said the value Costco offers was resonating with consumers, who in April, turned to Costco "to help alleviate cost pressures that other retailers could not as easily offset."
