United Microelectronics Acquires Machinery Equipment Worth NT$1 Billion; Shares Rally 10%

United Microelectronics (TPE:2303) acquired a batch of machinery and equipment worth about NT$1.03 billion from Tokyo Electron (TYO:8035), according to a Friday Taiwan Exchange filing.

Shares of United Microelectronics jumped about 10%, while those of Tokyo Electron rose about 4% in Monday afternoon trade.

The acquisition took place between May 27, 2025, and May 22, 2026, and the equipment will be used for production purposes.
