Consumer stocks were leaning lower pre-bell Monday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) and State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) declining by 0.1%.
GameStop (GME) said it submitted a non-binding proposal to acquire all outstanding shares of eBay (EBAY) for $125 each. Shares of eBay were up more than 6% and GameStop stock was down more than 5% premarket.
