Oxford Industries Says Cold Weather Is Denting Lilly Pulitzer Sales -- Market Talk

1912 ET - Oxford Industries' Lilly Pulitzer brand has come under pressure due to colder weather in some parts of the country, CEO Tom Chubb says, adding that the brand's comparable sales have been worse than expected so far this quarter. Chubb points to colder weather along the Eastern seaboard, including in Florida and the southeast, which are Lilly Pulitzer's most important markets. February was an especially cold month in Florida, he says. "Lilly is so dependent on Florida, especially at that time of year," he says during a call with analysts. "Of all of our brands, Lilly is the warmest of a bunch of warm weather brands." Chubb says he expects the weather to turn, and Lilly Pulitzer's trends to pick up as a result.
