Kuaishou Tech Sales Climb as AI Monetization Gains Momentum

Kuaishou Technology said the rapid scaling up of its generative artificial intelligence tools drove revenue growth.
Fourth-quarter revenue for the Beijing-based internet company climbed 12% to to 39.6 billion yuan ($5.7 billion), according to a Wednesday filing, meeting analyst estimates. Adjusted net income increased 16% in the quarter, more than analysts expected.
Revenue from Kling AI — its text-to-video AI tool — rose to 340 million yuan in the quarter from more than 300 million yuan in the preceding period, as monetization accelerated with stronger adoption among professional creators and enterprise clients globally.
The company increased its research and development spending by 19% last year, primarily from increased investments in AI and higher employee expenses.
