Australia's total engineering construction work done fell 1.8% to AU$35.81 billion in the December 2025 quarter, down from AU$36.45 billion in the previous quarter, the Australian Bureau of Statistics reported Wednesday.
The private sector's seasonally adjusted work done rose 0.3% to AU$19.63 billion, whereas the public sector's fell 4.2% to AU$16.18 billion.
The total value of work commenced in the December 2025 quarter rose 18% to AU$33.07 billion, comprising AU$21.19 billion from the private sector and AU$11.88 billion from the public sector.
Total engineering construction work in the December 2025 quarter fell 3%, with private sector activity rising 1.3% and public sector activity declining 7.9% compared with the December 2024 quarter.
