America Movil (AMX) and Brazil-based internet service provider Desktop said Sunday they signed a deal under which America Movil's Claro Telecom Participacoes unit will acquire a roughly 73% stake in the latter for 4 billion Brazilian reais ($748.6 million).
Under the terms of the agreement, Claro will pay 2.41 billion reais after deducting Desktop's net debt of 1.59 billion reais as of Sept. 30, 2025, pricing the internet service provider's shares at 20.82 reais, according to the companies.
Claro will also carry out a tender offer for Desktop's minority shareholders at a price "at least" equal to the acquisition price, the companies said.
