Australia said an Iranian projectile landed close to its Al Minhad base in the United Arab Emirates, triggering a fire that damaged an accommodation block and medical facility.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said no Australian defense personnel were injured by the projectile, which hit a road leading up to the base.

Australia has deployed a E-7A Wedgetail aircraft to bolster the region's defenses, particularly in the UAE, where more than 20,000 Australians live. The government also plans to provide Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles to the UAE, which has faced rocket and drone attacks from Iran.
