W&T Offshore Rises on Expected 4Q Revenue Increase

Shares of W&T Offshore advanced after the company said it expects to report a rise in revenue in the fourth quarter, despite posting a wider loss.

Shares were up 18% to $3.70 in Monday morning trading. The stock has gained more than one-and-a-half times its value in the past year.

The oil and natural gas company said it expects to report a fourth-quarter loss of $27.1 million, or 18 cents a share, compared with a loss of $23.4 million, or 16 cents a share, a year earlier.

Stripping out certain one-time items, W&T Offshore said it expects to report an adjusted loss of 14 cents a share.

Revenue is expected to rise to $121.7 million, up from $120.3 million a year earlier.

Oil revenue fell to $76 million from $86.8 million, according to the preliminary results. Natural gas revenue rose to $36.6 million from $24.2 million.
