Ticketmaster's New Fee Cap Could Lower Revenue -- Market Talk
Dow Jones
Mar 11
1352 ET - Ticketmaster's new 15% cap on ticketing service fees came as a surprise to JPMorgan analysts. The cap, which is part of Ticketmaster's settlement with the Justice Department, is lower than the average service fee the analysts have observed on Ticketmaster. A report from the Government Accountability Office put the primary ticketing fee market at 27%, the analysts note. Applying the cap against a $56 average face value ticket and 20 million to 25 million in ticket volume, the analysts estimate the new limit could reduce revenue by $150 million.(katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
