Select Harvests (ASX:SHV) has temporarily suspended harvesting across orchards in Riverland in South Australia, Sunraysia in Victoria, and southern New South Wales after heavy rainfall over the Feb. 28 to March 1 weekend impacted orchard conditions in the affected areas, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The crews and equipment were sent instead to the drier orchards in the Riverina region of New South Wales, per the filing.
The company said that while harvesting will continue as conditions improve, it is too soon to determine this year's crop yield or quality, noting that the upgraded Carina West drying facilities mitigate wet conditions, limiting any potential impact to this season's harvest, the filing added.
The company's shares fell around 3% in recent Tuesday trade.
