Shares of Woodside Energy Group (ASX:WDS) edged down in recent Wednesday trade, while Santos (ASX:STO) and Beach Energy (ASX:BPT) each fell around 1%, even as global oil prices hit their highest level since January 2025 amid escalating US-Israel-Iran tensions that disrupted Middle East energy shipments and fueled fears of a prolonged regional conflict.

Brent crude futures rose 4.7% to $81.40 a barrel.
