Gemini Space Station (GEMI) has laid off additional US personnel even after letting go of a quarter of its workforce as troubles mount in the cryptocurrency space, Bloomberg reported Sunday, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter.

The departure of the personnel was prompted in part by an effort to cut expenses at the cryptocurrency exchange, the report said.

The departures include Chief Financial Officer Dan Chen, Chief Operating Officer Marshall Beard, and Chief Legal Officer Tyler Meade.

Co-founder Cameron Winklevoss is assuming some of Beard's duties, while two staffers took over the duties of interim chief financial officer, the report said.

Gemini did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
