On the U.S. economic calendar, Thursday brings the closely watched weekly jobless claims data from the Department of Labor. On Friday, the Producer Price Index $(PPI)$ for January is due from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and is likely to have risen 0.3% month‑on‑month after a 0.5% increase in December.
