Live Nation $(LYV)$: The live-entertainment company logged higher sales last quarter, driven by demand for concerts. Shares rose 3.5% in premarket trading.

Newmont $(NEM)$: The miner posted stronger-than-projected quarterly results, bolstered by surging gold prices. However, the stock fell roughly 3% premarket.

Akamai Technologies $(AKAM)$: The cybersecurity and cloud company gave an earnings forecast that undershot expectations. The stock slid nearly 9% before the open.

Western Union $(WU)$: The payment network is due to post quarterly results Friday.
