Energy stocks were lower late Tuesday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index and the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) each falling about 1.2%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index was shedding 1%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index decreased 0.3%.
Front-month West Texas Intermediate crude oil declined 1% to $62.29 a barrel, and the global benchmark Brent crude contract dropped 1.8% to $67.39 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures fell 6.4% to $3.04 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, Enbridge (ENB) shares shed 3.3% after Jefferies and TD Cowen downgraded the stock to hold from buy.
Enlight Renewable Energy (ENLT) shares jumped nearly 16% after it reported a surprise Q4 profit.
Ormat (ORA) shares rose 5.1% after it said Tuesday it has entered into a long-term geothermal power purchase agreement with NV Energy, supporting data center operations of Alphabet's (GOOGL) Google in Nevada with up to 150 megawatts of new capacity.
