Bitcoin Turns Lower Ahead of Fed Meeting Minutes -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Yesterday

1247 GMT - Bitcoin turns lower as investors exercise caution ahead of the Federal Reserve's meeting minutes later. The minutes at 1900 GMT will be scrutinized for any hints on the trajectory of interest-rate cuts. Recent comments from policymakers show opinions are divided over the timing of the next rate cut. That means markets are looking for more clarity. Upcoming U.S. data could also offer clues on the rate path. Ahead of the minutes, U.S. durable goods orders data will be released at 1330 GMT. Later in the week, the U.S. PCE inflation figures and U.S. fourth-quarter economic growth data will be in focus. Bitcoin falls 0.2% to $67,537, LSEG data show. Ether drops 0.2% to $1,984.
