Jan 29 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals were reported by 1045 GMT on Thursday:

** Alibaba's <9988.HK> logistics arm plans to merge its autonomous-driving unit with Chinese robovan company Zelos Technology, forming a new entity valued at approximately $2 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter. nL4N3YU0U4

** Three companies are competing for GAIL India's <GAIL.NS> tender to acquire up to a 26% stake in a liquefied natural gas project in the United States, its Chairman Sandeep Kumar Gupta said. nL4N3YU0LS

** Activist investor Elliott Investment Management is considering a tender offer for Toyota Industries <6201.T>, the Nikkei business daily reported on Wednesday, in what could further complicate an effort by the Toyota group to take the forklift maker private. nL6N3YT0JW

** Audax Private Equity is exploring a sale of cybersecurity provider BlueCat Networks, which could fetch more than $1.5 billion, according to people familiar with the matter. nL4N3YU04S

** Investment firm Steel Partners said on Wednesday it had offered $18 per share to acquire a 51% stake in InMode <INMD.O>, sending the Israel-based medical technology firm's U.S.-listed shares up nearly 8% in after-hours trading. nL4N3YT2PU
