Vale (VALE) has halted operations at two of its units focused on iron ore production in Congonhas, Brazil, the mining company said in a regulatory filing on Monday.
Congonhas has ordered the suspension of the company's Fabrica and Viga units and the adoption of emergency control, monitoring, and environmental mitigation measures, Vale said.
Water had overflowed at the company's Fabrica and Viga units, according to a Reuters report.
Vale said its dams in the region "remain with unchanged stability and safety conditions."
