Toyota Motor (TYO:7203) remained the world's top-selling automaker in 2025 for a sixth year, data showed, after Volkswagen's full-year sales trailed Toyota's total through November, Nikkei reported Tuesday.

Toyota sold 10.32 million vehicles worldwide from January to November, while Volkswagen sold 8.98 million units in the full year, down 0.5%. Volkswagen sales fell 8% in China and 10.4% in North America, though Europe remained strong and global electric vehicle sales rose 32% to 983,100 units, according to the report.

Toyota has led global sales since 2020, the report said. Toyota's sales figures include sales from Daihatsu Motor and Hino Motors (TYO:7205), according to the report.
