European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Track Lower in Wednesday Trading

European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were trending lower late Wednesday morning, declining 0.51% to 1,719.51 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by medical device maker EDAP TMS (EDAP) and biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies (DBVT), which rose 5.8% and 5.5% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications companies Nokia (NOK) and Ericsson (ERIC), which were up 4.7% and 4% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by consumer goods company Unilever (UL) and oil and gas company Eni (E), which fell 3.1% and 2.7% respectively. They were followed by lender ING (ING) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications (SQNS), which were down 1.7% and 0.2% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Bicycle Therapeutics (BCYC) and telecommunications company Vodafone Group (VOD), which advanced 4% and 2.3% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Amarin (AMRN) and Mereo BioPharma Group (MREO), which increased 2% and 1.6% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Biodexa Pharmaceuticals (BDRX) and alcoholic beverage company Diageo (DEO), which lost 5.8% and 4% respectively. They were followed by hospitality company InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and biotech firm Trinity Biotech (TRIB), which dropped 2.6% and 2.1% respectively.
