The New Zealand Electricity Authority filed a formal complaint against Genesis Energy (ASX:GNE, NZE:GNE) for the alleged violation of the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010, according to a statement released Tuesday.
The Electricity Industry Participation Code requires generators to comply with dispatch instructions and notify the system operator if issues arise, the statement said.
The Electricity Authority said the company allegedly failed to comply with dispatch instructions for Huntly Unit 5 in Waikato and failed to promptly inform the system operator of a legitimate reason for the non-compliance in January 2024.
Genesis Energy did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
Its shares fell 1% in afternoon trade in Australia.
