Sector Update: Financial Stocks Lean Lower Pre-Bell Monday

Financial stocks were leaning lower pre-bell Monday, with the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) declining by 0.5%.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was down 1.4% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 1.6% higher.

Goldman Sachs Group (GS) said it has agreed to acquire Innovator Capital Management in a $2 billion transaction, payable in a mix of cash and equity contingent on meeting certain performance targets. Shares of Goldman Sachs Group were 0.6% lower premarket.

UBS (UBS) faces allegations it and its Credit Suisse unit failed to stop suspected money laundering tied to loans to Mozambican state-owned companies, Switzerland's federal prosecutor said. UBS stock was 0.2% lower pre-bell.

HSBC (HSBC) and Mistral AI said they have entered a multiyear partnership to expand the bank's use of generative artificial intelligence to streamline operations. HSBC shares were 0.5% higher premarket.
