NetApp (NTAP) said Tuesday it has launched a collaboration with Amazon.com's (AMZN) Amazon Web Services to allow enterprises to connect AWS's artificial intelligence and analytics services directly with their NetApp data.

The update introduces Amazon S3 Access Points for FSx for NetApp ONTAP, enabling S3 API access to file data stored on ONTAP systems without requiring data relocation or replication, the company said.

NetApp said the new capability can streamline operations and accelerate AI and analytics projects by expanding AWS service access to enterprise file data.

Shares of NetApp were up 3.8% in recent trading Tuesday.
