Financial stocks were edging up in Tuesday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Financial Index increasing 0.2% and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) fractionally higher.
The Philadelphia Housing Index was shedding 0.6%, and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) was decreasing 0.4%.
Bitcoin (BTC-USD) jumped past 6% to $91,975, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries was slightly lower at 4.09%.
In corporate news, Barclays (BCS) shares rose 1.4% after it said the Bank of England's stress test outcomes for UK banks showed that Barclays' Q3 common equity tier 1 ratio was 14.1%, above the Bank of England's minimum requirement of 7.2%.
DigitalBridge-owned (DBRG) tower and broadcast infrastructure platform Digita Group has agreed to be acquired by GI Partners, the investment firm said Tuesday. DigitalBridge shares added 0.3%.
Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) shares gained 2.4% after it posted higher fiscal Q4 adjusted earnings and revenue.
