Financial stocks were edging higher premarket Wednesday, with the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) up 0.2%.
The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was up 0.4% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 0.8% lower.
BBVA (BBVA) Chief Executive Onur Genc said the company does not plan any M&A operations in Italy, Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor reported, citing comments on the sidelines of a press meeting in Milan. BBVA shares were up 0.9% pre-bell.
Royal Bank of Canada (RY) stock was up more than 2% after the company reported higher fiscal Q4 adjusted earnings and revenue.
Manulife Financial (MFC) shares were 0.9% higher after the company priced a $1 billion offering of 4.986% senior notes due 2035 at 100%.
