Antitrust Case Against Apple's App Store Can be Heard by Dutch Courts, EU Court Says

The Court of Justice of the European Union said Tuesday that Dutch courts have jurisdiction to handle a case brought by two Netherlands-based foundations accusing Apple's (AAPL) App Store of anticompetitive behavior.
The iPhone maker had argued that Dutch tribunals lacked authority because the alleged harmful conduct did not occur in the Netherlands, a court filing showed.
The Dutch court handling the matter referred the jurisdiction question to the EU Court of Justice, which confirmed that the case can proceed in the Netherlands.
Apple didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
