TotalEnergies (TTE) said Tuesday it has decided to demobilize its liquefied natural gas floating storage and regasification unit at the Le Havre port in France.
The company said the floating LNG terminal is no longer needed, as shown by its lack of use and as stated in an Oct. 16 ruling by the Rouen Administrative Court.
The terminal was deployed during the 2022 European energy crisis as a safety net, at the request of authorities, to shore up energy security after Russian gas imports plunged, according to TotalEnergies.
The company said gas supply conditions are now stable in France and Europe.
