Nov 21 (Reuters) - Brazilian power company Neoenergia NEOE3.SA said on Friday it had signed a contract to sell hydro-power plant Dardanelos to EDF Brasil Hidro Participacoes for 2.5 billion reais ($462.72 million).
Under the deal, Neoenergia, controlled by Spain's Iberdrola IBE.MC, is selling EAPSA, the firm which runs Dardanelos.
The power plant, located in Brazil's centeral-western state of Mato Grosso, has an installed capacity of 261 megawatts.
Neoenergia will retain a minority stake in Dardanelos as it also agreed to buy 25% of Hidro Participacoes for 93.5 million reais.
EDF Brasil Holding will hold the remaining 75% of Hidro Participacoes after a 280.5 million reais capital injection.
EDF Brasil Holding will have the right to buy Neoenergia's stake in Hidro Participacoes within 2.5 years after the deal closes.
Dardanelos is the only investment of Hidro Participacoes.
