Baidu Set for Modest Growth on Improved Revenue Mix -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Nov 19

0829 GMT - Baidu is set for modest revenue and earnings growth in the coming years, HSBC analysts Charlene Liu and Ritchie Sun say in a note. They lift advertising revenue forecasts slightly after a smaller-than-expected 3Q decline in the segment, while leaving nonmarketing revenue projections largely unchanged. Revenue forecasts for 2025-2027 are raised by 1%, and earnings expectations by 1%-8%, reflecting a revenue-mix shift toward the higher-margin ad business. The analysts also highlight Baidu's strength in robotaxis as it hit new milestones in city coverage and ride volume, and increased visibility of its AI growth drivers across cloud infrastructure, software products and marketing services. HSBC raises the target price on the stock to $112.00 from $103.00 while keeping a hold rating. Baidu's ADRs last closed at $117.14. (jason.chau@wsj.com)
