STMicroelectronics' Chip Selected by SpaceX for Satellite Network

STMicroelectronics (STM) said Tuesday that its newly launched STM32V8 microcontroller has been selected by SpaceX for installation in its low-earth orbit satellites.
SpaceX will use the STM32V8 for the mini-laser system that connects the satellites in its Starlink constellation, the company said.
The microcontroller is also being made available to other customers as of Q1.
Shares of the company were down 2.2% in recent premarket activity.
