Rivian's Autonomy Efforts Not Focused on Robotaxis -- Market Talk
Dow Jones
Yesterday
1133 ET - Rivian's upcoming Autonomy Day will showcase its latest autonomous driving technologies, but the company is focused more on personal-automobile autonomy rather than robotaxis, say D.A. Davidson analysts Michael Shlisky and Linda Umwali. Rivian cars' active-driving capabilities have attracted many of its customers and as a result the company is likely focused on giving its "fun-to-drive cars" the part-time use of autonomy such as for commutes and simple trips as opposed to marketing them as full-time autonomous vehicles, the analysts say.
