Boeing Defense Workers to Vote on 5-Year Contract Thursday -- Market Talk

1709 ET - Boeing's roughly 3,200 St. Louis-area union workers are set to vote Thursday on another contract proposal that could end their more than three-month strike. This week's vote comes after Boeing proposed a $6,000 upfront signing bonus in place of other retention incentives. Local union leaders have endorsed this contract after declining to recommend the previous offer, which narrowly failed in a late-October vote. The strike has slowed but not stopped fighter jet and munitions production at the aerospace giant. (andrew.fitzgerald@wsj.com; @drewfitzgerald)
