Lynas Rare Earths (ASX:LYC) will be added to the MSCI Australia Index at the close of trading on Nov. 24, according to a Wednesday statement by the Index.
BlueScope Steel (ASX:BSL) and James Hardie Industries (ASX:JHX) will be removed from the Index on the same day, the statement said.
Shares of BlueScope rose past 2% while shares of James Hardie Industries fell past 9% and earlier hit a 52-week low in recent Thursday trade.
