1029 GMT - China's next five-year plan signals systematic efforts and collaborative development to drive semiconductor breakthroughs across the supply chain, CGS International analyst Angela Cheng says in a note. The plan promotes deep collaboration between upstream and downstream industrial chains like design, manufacturing as well as packaging and testing, forming a domestic ecosystem. The analyst says this means there could be policy support covering several segments across the supply chain. As Beijing has identified the semiconductor sector as a priority for China, semiconductors could usher the entire industrial chain into a "strategic opportunity period," she adds.
