The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 42.0900-42.1400 against the U.S. dollar at 0408 GMT.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 0.52% higher on Wednesday at 10,970.37 points.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asia shares rose on Thursday, reversing a steep selloff from the previous session after better-than-expected U.S. economic data drew investors back into markets trading near record highs.
ERDOGAN SCHEDULE

TURKISH AIRLINES THYAO.IS
Turkish Airlines has reached an agreement with GE Aerospace to procure engines, spare engines and engine maintenance services for 75 B787 planes that it is buying from Boeing, the company said.
TALKS WITH HAMAS
Turkey's MIT intelligence agency chief Ibrahim Kalin met Hamas' negotiating team head Khalil Al-Hayya on Wednesday and they discussed the path to be followed in implementing the next phases of the Gaza ceasefire plan, Turkish security sources said.
