ServiceNow's Q4 Outlook Tempered by Government Shutdown -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Oct 31

1425 ET - ServiceNow guided for a strong 4Q, but its projections could have been even more robust if not for timing-related concerns with federal customers, Truist Securities analysts say in a note. "The government shutdown kept a lid on what could have been an even more impressive raise to the 4Q outlook," the analysts say. Management made it clear that its conservatism was based on timing risks from standard procurement processes due to the shutdown, rather than demand, they say. Going forward, ServiceNow's government-wide agreements, which streamline the purchasing experience and allow for broader platform adoption, could lead to durable growth in the segment, they say.(kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
