Tech stocks were lower Friday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) down 0.3% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) falling 1.7%.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor index was shedding 0.9%.
In corporate news, GDS' (GDS) affiliate DayOne is looking to raise over $1 billion in a new round of funding, Reuters reported Friday. The series C fundraising is intended to support the data center operator's growth plans in Southeast Asia and Europe, the report said. GDS shares were down 2.6%.
Meta (META) said Friday that it is providing "simple, new ways" for parents to control how much interaction their children have with AI characters. Meta shares were 0.3% higher.
Sify Technologies' (SIFY) Sify Infinit Spaces unit said Friday it filed a draft red herring prospectus with India's share market regulator and the national stock exchange for a 37 billion Indian Rupees ($420.5 million) initial public offering. Sify Technologies shares jumped 10%.
