Nanjing Putian Telecommunications (SHE:200468) plans to liquidate and deregister its 50/50 joint venture with Japan's Sumitomo Electric Industries, Nanjing Puzhu Optical Network.

The joint venture ceased operations in August 2018 due to an inability to adapt to market demands and sustained losses, having generated no revenue since, according to a Friday filing with the Shenzhen bourse.

The telecommunication equipment manufacturer expects to recognize an investment gain of more than 7 million yuan from the liquidation.

Shares of the company closed 7% lower Friday.
