Microsoft (MSFT) on Thursday unveiled a series of new updates to its Windows 11 operating system aimed at making its Copilot artificial intelligence assistant more accessible to users.
The company said that the latest updates will allow users to unlock the AI assistant using a new wake word, "Hey Copilot".
Microsoft said that it is expanding Copilot Vision to all markets where Copilot is offered. The company noted that if a user provides permission, Copilot Vision can analyze content on the desktop and other applications and answer related queries.
The company said that the updates will also include Copilot Actions on an experimental basis, which allows the AI agent to perform real tasks like restaurant reservations or ordering groceries by accessing a user's local files and applications.
Microsoft said that it is also introducing a feature called Copilot connectors, allowing users to link services such as OneDrive, Outlook, Gmail, Google Calendar, and others to Copilot. Once connected, users can ask Copilot to locate and remember files and details, it added.
