U.S. 10-Year Treasury Yield Trades at Fair Level -- Market Talk

0917 GMT - U.S. 10-year Treasurys are fairly priced around current yield levels, considering market expectations for further Federal Reserve interest-rate cuts, MFI's Johann Peter Rossgoderer says. MFI would therefore "definitely sell" 10-year Treasurys at yields below 3.75%, he says. This compares with a current yield level of 4.011%, according to Tradeweb. Elsewhere across the U.S. Treasury yield curve, MFI sees little potential for movements unless the independence of the Federal Reserve is eroded. "Yield stability is the most likely scenario if the market does not lose confidence in the Fed's independent monetary policy," says Rossgoderer. Markets expect the fed funds rate to fall to 3% by July 2026, according to LSEG data. MFI is a subsidiary of Laiqon AG. (emese.bartha@wsj.com)
