Information technology stocks advanced almost 1% at midday Friday.
Infomedia (ASX:IFM) said it plans to hold a scheme meeting and its 2025 annual general meeting on Nov. 18. It sent a booklet to its shareholders regarding the proposed acquisition of all Infomedia shares by McQueen BidCo, an entity owned by an investment holding entity in Singapore, managed or advised by TPG Capital or its related entities, via a scheme of arrangement.
On the other hand, the materials sector declined past 1%, after the gold price fell 1.6% to $3,976.65 per ounce. China imposed new curbs on exports of rare earths and other critical materials.
Perenti (ASX:PRN) said Chief Executive Mark Norwell will step down in 2026. The process of transition to a new CEO is expected to start in the first half of 2026.
