OpenAI is taking artificial intelligence video creation to the next level.
On Tuesday, the ChatGPT parent introduced the next version of its flagship AI video generation model, called Sora 2.
"Our latest video generation model is more physically accurate, realistic, and controllable than prior systems," OpenAI said.
The model is a general-purpose video-audio generation system and is capable of creating speech and background sound effects with a "high degree of realism," OpenAI said.
Sora 2 will also power a new social iOS app called Sora, which is available on Tuesday. ChatGPT Pro users will also be allowed to use a Sora 2 Pro model on sora.com.
Sora 2's introduction comes after a flurry of OpenAI announcements. On Monday, OpenAI said users are now able to buy items from U.S. Etsy sellers directly on the popular artificial intelligence platform. Over a million Shopify merchants, including Glossier, Skims, Spanx, and Vuori, are coming soon, according to the company.
Last week, OpenAI and Nvidia announced a new partnership where the leading maker of AI chips plans to invest as much as $100 billion in OpenAI to support the buildout of 10 gigawatts of AI data center capacity.
