Micro-X (ASX:MX1) secured AU$4.4 million grant by the Australian Government's Industry Growth Program to build and trial a stroke-capable ambulance using its head computed tomography device, which is currently under development, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.
The company said the contract is being finalized and is expected to be executed shortly.
The company added that a reader study demonstrating clinical acceptance of imaging captured by paramedics in the stroke ambulance will support medical device regulatory submissions.
The funding is non-dilutive with the company retaining all intellectual property rights, the filing added.
The company's shares rose 10% in recent Tuesday trade.
