Sanyo Denki (TYO:6516) said it will build a new plant in Hung Yen Province, Vietnam, according to a Friday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The facility, the company's third large-scale production base after Japan and the Philippines, will produce cooling fans, stepping motors, and servo motors, with planned monthly outputs of 500,000, 50,000, and 5,000 units, respectively.
Construction is scheduled to start in September 2026, with operations expected from July 2027.
Sanyo Denki said the project, which requires an estimated investment of 7 billion yen, is aimed at meeting rising demand for high-performance servers, telecom equipment, and precision machinery amid growth in AI and other markets.
