Core Energy Minerals (ASX:CR3) said that a maiden aircore drilling program at the Cummins uranium project in South Australia confirmed the firm's geological model, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

The program consisted of 27 aircore drill holes for 2,775 meters across six prospect areas. The drilling and downhole gamma probe confirmed interpreted mineralized palaeochannel targets, and phase two drill targets will be generated by further mapping the morphological controls within the palaeochannel systems.

It encountered intercepts of 4 meters at 114.3 parts-per-million grade of triuranium octoxide from 104 meters, as well as one meter at 117.9 ppm grade of triuranium octoxide from 88 meters.
